Hey y'all. I'm 61 and in Tennessee so I'm not sure if I can be of much use. At someone's suggestion I finally decided to sign up though. I guess my idea on prepping is mainly just being self sufficient and not having to rely on others when something out of the ordinary happens.
I hope I will be able to add something, if nothing else maybe just a different perspective.

Welcome reb, I guess we all prep to some degree, even if it's something like candles for power-outs. It can get rather all consuming but I/we believe things are looking a tad worrying at this time.
I was looking at the price of woodland in Tennessee only last week, if I was not so much in love with my England I may have tried to get my family over there.

It comes down making sure you have food and a safe place to be and of course defense, depending on the situation. It is worrying and many over here are preparing. Gun sales are still breaking records and some ammo is still hard to find. I'm sure there's quite a few that don't even have a candle, or food on hand for a few days.
I can understand not wanting to leave, and not sure it would be any better over here the way things look. I have some land in Alabama if I need another place to go.

I hear you reb. I have some neck and back damage and worry about recoil. With that I was looking at the Ruger 10 22 rim fire but getting a firearms certificate over here is VERY hard. My Wife's cousin further up in the North of England HAS gone through all the hassle and has a few larger caliber hunting rifles, with which he crosses the boarder into Scotland to hunt with. I am taking advice from him on the best way to go forward with the FAC.
I, and pretty much all of the WHB get our news away from the corrupted national news outlets but it's good of you to confirm the state of affairs which those controlled media outlets don't broadcast to us.
The WHB members are heavily into patriotism, but not patriotism at the price of our own cultural and ethnic surrender. And reb, when the South does rise again I hope your Northern European cousins rise along-side you lot over there !!

AR-15's are surprisingly low recoil. I guess your back trouble puts a shotgun off the list. If I had to have just one firearm it would be a 12 gauge pump. the .22LR is very popular over here and are hard to find.
I've read elsewhere about all the hoops y'all have to jump through just to buy and own a firearm and it just boggles my mind. All that is required for us is a FBI background check to see if you are a criminal to buy a firearm. Lately there has been talk of firearm confiscation by some over here and changing the 2nd Amendment of our Constitution. It won't happen though or if they try there'll be hell to pay.
I rarely pay any attention to the MSM, their news is too lopsided.
I'm patriotic as far as home and country but as for the ones running the country into the ground, that's another matter.
